Yes, without skill there is probably no graphics design. It is your ability to design that would make your work stand out. If you are adept in graphics works, no doubt you will be highly patronized by customers you did not even do advertisement to. If your skills is poor then no one would give you work because you graphical work would be very bad. So, skills and attention to details are what you need most as an artist in graphics design. Do not attempt to do graphics with having skills.

Yes dear without skills you are nothing, you cannot create any Logo or any designing work without skills.

When I was working in the bank in the year 2000 there was a German web designer who taught me the basics of Dreamweaver. I also learned Photoshop by myself because he said graphics is needed. I was able to do the draft of our bank's website although it did not reach the final stage because something happened, the bank was being sold to a bigger bank. Anyway, with my experience I clearly understand that skills would not be enough for a graphics designer. You need the talent for visual arts.

Yes, very knees sense and sharp skill is needed to make great designs, one need to be very creative to make striking designs.

Though there are graphic packages that have made designing quite easy, yet good colour combination skill is needed by whoever uses the graphic packages if nice designs must be done.
