7 Steps to answer, in starting an Internet Business

Starting an online business is not too difficult, If you know what you want to start. If you get a successful online business, you would probably like to not leave it in the future, as it being a good source of income.

So, how would you start a good online business? My suggestion, follow these semi-easy steps.

1. Define the goal of Your Business and Budget Fund.

What is the purpose when you start internet business, other than making money? What is the goal of the business, and what service are you looking to provide? Before you start, you need to have a solid direction and a clear investment budget. The clearer your business purpose is, and the better initial starting cash, the better you will be when starting an online business.

2. Define Your Target

Know who you are targetting with your business. Is it for webmasters? Forum Owners? Are you selling products online specific to a certain gender? How old they are? What are the potential socio-economic conditions and earnings?

Is it necessary to know your target in detail? Yes, the more you know about your target audience, the better!

3. Know your competitors

How many online businesses are there, with the same goal as you? Are they selling the same exact products that you are planning to sell? What are the differences and similarities? If you can figure out what you need to add to your business, to make it different from the others, you may end up starting off pretty well.

4. Marketing Strategy

The business that markets themselves better, gets more traffic and sales. How you plan to advertise and market to your audience, shows to the public that you mean business. You would need to figure out where to advertise to get the sales you want. The more specific the advertising is, the better you can pull off your business from the ground.

5. Troubleshooting

Are you selling your product, to help potentially solve issues your customors have? Define how your product will benefit your target audience, and people will better understand why they are there, and potentially to purchase from you.

6. Internet Branding

Buy a domain that can be used to identify your products. The more specific the keywords are in your domain, the better. It doesn't have to be short or long, so long as the domain tells the person that they are shopping at your website.

Also, you need to have the appropriate software to run the online site off of. If you are running a store, what ecommerce platforms would benefit the site the most?

7. Forget perfection

Do not expect everything to run perfectly, as things will never work exactly the way you expected, especially if you get more traffic than expected. Solve issues, but don't put too much effort in trying to perfect everything. If an issue takes 6 months to properly fix, don't try to fix it in a week.

When choosing a market strategy you need to be very tactical since there’re a lot of competitors doing better. You need to look for thier mistakes and find a solution and add that to your internet business

Exactly! Personally I feel defining your brand can help in a lot of ways. Many individual wants to start up an online business but actually are confused about what to do or trade. I see a lot of person with thousands of ideas to start up one business. without having a particular focus or base. Therefore it is important for one to know exactly what they want and define their business before lunching.

Another important factor is budget. It will help the business grow faster, when they is a defined budget. A defined budget would safe the business from financial challenges.
 
You are right and you made a point, many people have a ideas of business but they do not have a capital to start or let me say do not know how to start it or maybe they do not have focus and plans. And the important thing to make person start and run business successfully is focus and well plans.

I agree with the last point to not be conscious in being perfect. That is what I learned in the bank when I was tasked to improve the loans system. I was trying hard to make it easier for the back end staff but there were some complications in the (computer) system that the staff were always complaining. When I was able to solve the problem I saw some more snags that are tolerable. The manager of the loans department said that we do not need to have a perfect system as long as it can give us the functions that we need.

You are right if I understand the steps and get involved in the business of providing internet then the business will move forward. No business can be perfect. There are flaws in business, but we must keep trying to fix it.
We should start a strategy to spread the internet in market or in our respected area. It is a basic fundamental of this business.
 
I think the article misses the obvious question: should I start an online business with my own website or run online business through ecommerce marketplaces. Choosing how to start a business, or let's say which platform to choose for your online business is very important
